Our proposal of Conscious Travel is based on Conscious Tourism.
It is a relatively new concept (2011, Ecuador): “Conscious tourism is a transformative travel experience that generates personal growth that makes us better human beings. This conscious tourism is based on the principles of sustainability and ethics and promotes the values of peace, friendship, respect and love of life as the essence of tourism practice”.
Traveling is a learning experience … it activates our mind and gives us more confidence, independence and well-being.
Traveling allows us to open ourselves to the environment and to other people, improving our social life. By meeting new people, creating a social network and feeling part of a group, it also improves our self-esteem and state of mind.
Traveling is an enriching experience … travel is the best of therapies to get out of the routine and relax, connect with our inner and learn. Stimulate our minds to prevent their deterioration, increase our tolerance and flexibility.

THE INTENDED DEPARTURE FOR OUR CONSCIOUS TRIP WILL BE IN MAY 2018.
OUR CONSCIOUS TRIP IS BASED ON THE IDEA OF TRAVELING AS A PROCESS OF TRANSFORMATION:Through experience, look both outside and inside.
During our stay in Gambia, the coast of smiling, we will participate in group dynamics and workshops to integrate the experiences we are experiencing.
PSYCHOLOGICAL NARRATIVE WORKSHOP
Life is an adventure story: we embark on this journey as a group … learning to know each other through stories … through our favorite character.
In Gambia, the oral tradition transmitted by the griots has been fundamental in transmitting local transgenerational history.
EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING WORKSHOP

To calm our mind, reduce stress and feel more relaxed, we will use techniques such as visualization, relaxation and meditation … as well as dancing too.
In the activities we will provide tools to reduce anxiety and to transform the traveling experiences into greater self-knowledge and personal growth.
Travel can give us a new vital focus, making this exciting trip can help us take perspective on who we are and what we want in life, and even discover things we did not know we liked.

DAY 1: Departure from Barcelona (or another city) to Banjul, the capital of Gambia. ARRIVAL at night to the city, we stayed at the ecolodge next to the beach. Dinner at the hotel and welcome activity and initial workshop.
DAY 2: In the morning, Emotional Wellness Workshop. After breakfast we start the route, we will visit the crocodile lake or pool in Bakau Kachically. Walk through the town of Bakau and visit the artist market. In the afternoon, arrival of the fishermen with their fishing boats in Tanji beach, a natural spectacle of great beauty. We started Narrative Workshop in the afternoon.
DAY 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Route to Juffureh, birthplace of Kunta Kinteh (Roots), to learn about the history of the Gambian people during the era of slavery. Return to the hotel in the afternoon to develop Narrative Workshop.
DAY 4: Upon awakening, we continue with the Emotional Wellness Workshop. After breakfast, street art walk through the villages of Kubuneh, next to the Gambia river. Project called Wide Open Walls where 7 international artists painted murals in the houses of the community. In the afternoon, canoe trip through the Makasutu area to observe birds and monkeys.
DAY 5: We begin the day with the Emotional Wellness Workshop. Breakfast in ecolodge and departure to the Natural Reserve of Abuko, where there are many birds of different species, as well as monkeys, hyenas and local vegetation. In the afternoon, visit the famous market of Brikama arts and the bustle and colorful market of Serrekunda. We will share the next Narrative Workshop at night.
DAY 6: Emotional Well-being Workshop to start the day with harmony. After breakfast, excursion to the area of Senegambia to visit the natural park of Bijilo and the most tourist area of the coast.
DAY 7: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we will share a new Narrative Workshop. The rest will be a day of free disposition, without organized or guided tours, to be able to walk along the beach, lie down in the sun, stroll through the town or whatever you like most …
DAY 8: Breakfast to start the day before visiting the capital of the country, Banjul, including the National Museum. Emotional well-being and farewell workshop. Lunch and departure to the airport to catch the plane back.
DAY 9: Arrival at dawn to Spain (or another country).
The trip will be confirmed when the group is closed, minimum 5 people.
The program of the trip is flexible. The hours of the Emotional and Narrative Wellness Workshops can be modified according to the needs of the group.
